Depart your hotel at 8:30am and be taken on a short ferry boat ride to Goree Island. Steeped in history, the House of Slaves on Goree Island was reconstructed and opened as a museum in 1962. Captured people from all over West Africa were held in the building in great numbers and from there transported directly to the Americas. Discover the history of slavery on this island and visit its 'Door of No Return' through which over a million slaves were shipped to foreign lands. Walk the peaceful quiet streets of the island appreciating the colonial architecture before stopping for lunch and returning to your hotel. Price includes all transportation, ferry ticket, ticket to slave house, tax, and guide at Goree. Morning pick-up from your lodging. 3 – 4 hours.
